Unravelling the Role of PERP protein downregulation in Carcinogenesis
PERP (p53 Apoptosis Effector Related to PMP-22) is a desmosomal protein coded and regulated by p53/p63 PERP, which plays an important role in tumorigenesis PERP has been found to be downregulated even before E Cadherins. However, unlike E cadherins the role of PERP in oral cancers is not extensively researched. This lecture will shed light on the available knowledge and highlight existing information gaps that can be the focus of future research.
