Renowned Oral & Maxillofacial Pathologist and Keynote Speaker

Prof. Jos Hille is a distinguished Oral & Maxillofacial Pathologist with over four decades of expertise in clinical diagnosis, histopathology, and oncology of the head and neck region. He has served for many years as Professor and Head of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology at the University of the Western Cape, Cape Town, South Africa, and as Head of Discipline in Oral Pathology at the National Health Laboratory Services (NHLS) at Tygerberg Hospital.  He works as a private consultant in clinical and laboratory diagnostics of oral & maxillofacial diseases, and he has an appointment as a part-time professorial lecturer and course coordinator in Oral Medicine & Pathology at the Department of Oral Surgery, School of Dentistry, University of Namibia.

A globally recognized expert, Prof. Hille specializes in diseases affecting the oral cavity, salivary glands, throat (larynx), nose, paranasal sinuses, and pharynx. He has played a pivotal role in advancing pathology and oncology research. He is the CEO of Precision Head and Neck Diagnostics Africa (Pty) Ltd (Phanda Health) and Executive Committee Member of the South African Head and Neck Oncology Society (SAHNOS). He is also a founder member and co-coordinator of the IAOP Africa Region Forum and a leader in global oral cytology networks, including the Oral Cytology Global Network (OCGN) and the African Oral Cytology Network (AOCN). He has also been participating in African projects of the Global Dental Ambassadors (GDA) group.

Prof. Hille’s contributions to education, diagnostics, and research have shaped the practice of oral and maxillofacial pathology worldwide. At the IODCPC25, he will deliver the keynote lecture on Oral Pathology, offering invaluable insights into diagnostic advancements, clinical management, and education in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.
