Event Overview
The oral microbiome has emerged as a critical player in oral carcinogenesis, influencing inflammation, immune modulation, and disease progression. Yet, despite growing interest, many questions remain unanswered.
In this free, interactive livestream, we examine the current state of science, the proposed mechanisms, and—most importantly—what directions future research must take to translate microbiome insights into clinical relevance.
This session is designed to bridge the gap between molecular research and clinical understanding for oral health professionals.

Dr. Divya Gopinath has over 14 years of academic and research experience across India, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and the UAE. Her work focuses on the role of microorganisms in oral diseases and evidence synthesis in dentistry and oral medicine. She has published extensively in high-impact journals and was listed among the Top 2% of scientists worldwide (Stanford University, 2025).
