Oral mucosal lesions- An Ayurvedic perspective.
Dr. Savita S. Angadi is a distinguished Ayurvedic physician and academic leader specializing in Shalakya Tantra (ENT and Orofacial Disorders). She is Professor and Head of the Department of Shalakya Tantra at KAHER’s Shri B.M.K. Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya and KLE Ayurveda Hospital, Belagavi, where she also serves as Medical Research Center (MRC) Coordinator. With over 22 years of undergraduate and 12 years of postgraduate teaching experience, she is a key contributor to Ayurvedic education, clinical practice, and research.
An accomplished researcher, Dr. Angadi has authored 28 research publications, two books, and nine research projects. She has presented at numerous international and national conferences, earning multiple accolades, including Best Oral Paper at the World Ayurveda Congress (2016, 2022) and Best Scientist of the Year (2022) at KAHER’s Shri BMK AMV, Belagavi. She is actively involved in Ayurvedic policy and curriculum development, serving as Chairperson of the Board of Studies (Clinical Subjects) at KAHER and Co-Chair for PG syllabus development at NCISM, New Delhi.
At IODCPC25, Dr. Angadi will be a featured speaker in the Symposium – Integrative Perspectives on Oral Ulcerative Lesions: Exploring Multidisciplinary Management Modalities, delivering a talk on “Oral Mucosal Lesions – An Ayurvedic Perspective.” She will discuss traditional Ayurvedic approaches to diagnosing and managing oral ulcerative lesions, emphasizing the role of herbal medicine, lifestyle modifications, and holistic healing as part of a multidisciplinary strategy for patient care.
