Dr. Eric Wilson is an internationally recognized expert in clinical pain management, specializing in head, neck, and craniofacial pain. With a medical career spanning decades, he is a leading figure in multidisciplinary pain assessment and treatment. He qualified as a medical doctor in Johannesburg in 1986 and completed his residency at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town, with postgraduate rotations in pediatric surgery, ENT, general surgery, microsurgery, and neurosurgery.

Dr. Wilson leads a renowned pain clinic at Constantiaberg MediClinic and Rondebosch Private Hospital, recognized as a center of international excellence. His multidisciplinary approach integrates expertise from diverse fields, including oncology, neurology, surgery, rheumatology, and psychiatry. His specialized research focuses on vagal, trigeminal, and sphenopalatine modulation for craniofacial pain, and he has advanced technical interests in bi-polar neuroplasty, RF & PRF techniques, and neuromodulation.

A dedicated educator, Dr. Wilson is actively involved in postgraduate pain fellowship training in South Africa, Namibia, Brazil, Hungary, Holland, Italy, Belgium, and the USA. He is an executive member of the World Institute of Pain (WIP) Africa Section, serves on the WIP International Board of Examiners, and examines FIPP fellowship exams.
At IODCPC25, Dr. Wilson will present on Multidisciplinary Postgraduate Training Influencing Approaches to Orofacial & Craniofacial Pain as part of the Oral Medicine Track of the Preconference. His session will explore how interdisciplinary training enhances diagnostic accuracy and treatment strategies for chronic orofacial pain, providing valuable insights for clinicians, pain specialists, and researchers.
