Expert Panelist – Fireside Chat on Lichen Planus: A Benign Condition or a Potentially Malignant Disorder?

Dr. Ellen Eisenberg is a distinguished oral and maxillofacial pathologist with a career spanning several decades in clinical practice, research, and education. She earned her D.M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and completed her residency in Oral Pathology at Harvard University. She is currently a Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine and an Associate Professor in the Division of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the UConn School of Medicine.
Until early 2024, Dr. Eisenberg co-directed the Oral Pathology teaching programs at UConn Health and served as the Director of UConn’s Oral Pathology Biopsy Service. She continues to play an active role in teaching, patient consultations, and the clinical management of oral mucosal and jaw-related pathologies. Her leadership and expertise in oral pathology have been recognized through numerous prestigious roles, including serving as Past President of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology (AAOMP) and holding diplomate status with the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology.

Dr. Eisenberg is an honorary Connecticut Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons member and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists. She has made significant contributions to the understanding and management of oral diseases, particularly in the realm of oral potentially malignant disorders.
