Prof. (Dr.) Aruna D.S. is a dental public health consultant and tobacco cessation specialist based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. With over 22 years of experience, she has been pivotal in training dental undergraduates, postgraduates, and healthcare workers through her work with dental colleges, forums, and NGOs.
Dr. Aruna is pursuing her Ph.D. in “Smokeless Tobacco Expectancies of Adults” at PAHER, Udaipur. She holds a B.D.S. from K.L.E’s Institute of Dental Science & Research Center, Belgaum, and an M.D.S. in Public Health Dentistry from S.D.M. College of Dental Sciences & Research, Dharwad. Additionally, she has a PGD in Health Promotion (Tobacco Control) and certifications in tobacco cessation from WHO FCTC, ICMR-NICPR, NIMHANS, and Gujarat University.
Her expertise includes dental public health, health promotion, tobacco cessation/control, cancer prevention, and psycho-oncology. Recently, she completed the SIPHER PGI Chandigarh, ECHO RCTC Induction Program in Tobacco Cessation. Dr. Aruna has published her research in national and international journals, making her a respected figure in dental public health and tobacco cessation.
