Course Description:
This month is dedicated to #oralhealth and overcoming #oraldisease; patients with #dementia and #alzheimersdisease deserve our attention too. Dementia is becoming an increasingly common condition. While the disease complex affects the brain, there are complex effects on memory, behavior, and cognitive changes. Among these is the inability to perform routine personal health and hygiene care, leading to poor dental health complicated by unique difficulties in seeking and successfully undergoing dental treatment. However, current dental training does not inform or sensitize dentists on this group of patients’ special needs. This webinar is designed to educate dentists and specialists on the disease process and its medical management while sensitizing them to these patients’ specific needs.
Learning Objectives:
- To understand the mental, physical, cognitive, and psychological effects of dementia and its treatment that can affect oral health and dental treatment.
- To be familiar with the pre-appointment, appointment, and post-appointment changes needed for successfully treating these patients.
- To be familiar with these patients’ medications, their effect on oral health, and carrying out treatment.
Who Should Attend:
All dental graduates, dental specialists, and dental caregivers.
Certification & CDE Points:
All registered attendees who attend more than 80% of the program duration will receive a course completion certificate.
Dentists registered with the Dental Council of India will be able to claim 3 CDE points allotted by the DCI for this event, Council registration number will be required.

- 20:00 – 20:30 Panel Discussion & Q and A session
